Acknowledgements
The editors sincerely wish to thank all librarians, curators, researchers, and project managers who participated in the 2024 edition of the Erasmus Staff Training Week and shared their experiences and visions in relation to the theme of the Week.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Paul Thirion, Chief Librarian of the University of Liège, and Stéphanie Simon, Operations Director at ULiège Library, for their steadfast support of initiatives such as this event and the subsequent publication process.
The editors also wish to express their sincere appreciation to Prof. Michel Moutschen, Vice-Rector for Research and President of ULiège Library, Prof. Pierre Duysinx, Vice-Rector for Mobility and International Affairs, and Prof. Pierre Hallot, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, for their availability and continued support.
We further convey our appreciation to all colleagues from ULiège Library who, during the Erasmus Week, kindly devoted their time to leading and supervising workshops and visits to library branches, heritage collections, and the digitisation unit: Marjorie Bardiau, Léna Cauchie, Dominique Chalono, Christophe Dony, Aline Gavage, Rémy Lhoest, Adrien Mathy, Cécile Nissen, Fabienne Prosmans, and Frédérick Vanhoorne.
We express our deepest thanks to the team of the International Relations Office of the University of Liège, especially Oriana Bertucci, Julie Hollenfeltz, and Dominique d’Arripe, for their administrative and financial support. Without their invaluable help, it would not have been possible to organise this ninth edition of the Erasmus Week.
For their valuable logistical and technical support during the Week, we are very grateful to Aurore Graeven (ULiège Library) and Patricia Heusden (Faculty of Philosophy and Arts).
We also wish to thank the Presses Universitaires de Liège for accepting the publication of this volume within their collections, while simultaneously enabling its open access dissemination. This dual approach reflects their commitment to the University of Liège’s 2023–2028 Open Science roadmap, and demonstrates that open digital publishing and traditional academic publishing can successfully coexist. We extend our special thanks to Prof. Geoffrey Grandjean, Managing Director, and Cathy Prince, Editorial Director, for the thoughtful and attentive support they provided throughout the development of this project.
Finally, the editors wish to thank Pascale Renders (ULiège Library, Open Digital Publishing) for her advice on the use of Pressbooks to shape this book, and Charlotte Rambeaux for the design of the PDF export.
